Trevor drags himself out of bed to help Ben play some Click Pitch. Things get a little weird with games featuring a jungle court with a baboon for a judge, a murder mystery at a Woodstock like concert and an owl hunting for snacks.

038: Planetary Passion (featuring Anthony Murphy from the Semi Cast)
Anthony Murphy from the Semi-Cast joins Ben this week as Trevor chucks a sickie, missing out on a planetary scale visual novel, a policewoman skydiving to make arrests, XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen reimagined as a totally not-blasphemous real time strategy, another VR game about yelling, and transit building game set in the world of wizardry. By the way, what type of flowers do you buy for a zoo wedding?
Things are getting stormy as Ben and Trevor play some more Click Pitch and come up with ideas like playing the "Bond girl" role in a spy thriller and a Papers Please style of game where the protagonist is a parole officer.
They also talk about their new Facebook group http://facebook.com/groups/bitstorm but seem to only talk about their own suggestions for the weekly listener Click Pitch.

036: Lining Up The Bits (featuring Michael and Tegan from RESET Podcast)
Michael and Tegan from RESET join Ben and Trevor in designing a new toys to life franchise revolving around body pillows, a raunchy game of Tetris, a solar system spanning Tupperware conspiracy, a zombie knitting game, a side scrolling nerds vs jocks beat-em-up, a very asymmetrical game of basketball and the existential crisis of Robert Cattington.

Get your popcorn ready and switch off your mobile phones, cos Ben and Trevor are going to the movies. They warm up with some Click Pitch and then dive into some movie tie in games. The games include the children of Robin Hood and Little John on opposite sides of the law, a VR game based within the Anchorman universe and a creaky game about living as a house.
Ben is back in the Bit Storm basement, and he and Trevor jump straight back into some Click Pitch resulting in games about giants cooking humans in the sun, grammar teachers who love it when you are incorrect, a VR computer building challenge with frustrating limitations, selectively breeding sportspeople to up their game, and a presidential VR thumb fiddling simulation. Plus perhaps we'll finally catch that sticker bandit!
Ben and Trevor are back in the saddle, kinda anyway. In the last episode of Bit Drizzle before Ben returns from Canada, they talk about games that don’t exist yet, like a Life Saving simulator, a VR hunting game where you control the animals and a bizarre reality where messages are passed through the body like a Postal service.

032: Bread Rising (Featuring Dan Ryan of the Game Club Podcast)
Dan Ryan of the Game Club Podcast joins Trevor in this episode of Bit Storm, as Ben is still not back from Canada. Although there were a few internet disruptions this episode made it over the line and contains numerous references to morality systems, broken down observatory equipment and aliens invading our living rooms.

031: Nightmare Fuel (featuring Sam Harkin of Vivid Geekcast)
Sam Harkin, of Vivid Geekcast and Super Hype Train, joins Trevor in this unprecedented second guest hosted episode in a row. He brings a real fun energy and they come up with a VR Croquet simulator with a horror edge, a Stardew Valley rip off and a VR Hibachi chef simulator.

030: Heart of Gold (Featuring Pete Curulli from Game On Australia)
Trevor welcomes Pete Curulli of Game On Australia fame back to play some more Click Pitch. They get a little silly with ideas such as a Hijacker with a heart of gold, a musical theatre game with quicktime mechanics, pooping zebras and a Player Unknown's Battlegrounds inspired office scavenger game. All this and more.
While Ben is in Canada we have a number of smaller episodes entitled "Bit Drizzle" ready for your listening pleasure. In this episode Ben and Trevor discuss a game featuring Twinder, sentient candy and they return to the world of anthropomorphic root vegetables that still don't like their leafy cousins.
Trevor welcomes Andrew Natoli (@Kalgar) and Paul Cunningham (@ThundermaceAus) from the Inconsolables podcast to riff on crazy ideas involving the celestial dance of the moon and the sun, hunting humans, wrestling in wine cellars and a rip off homage of Super Meat Boy called Super Corn Boy.
While Ben is in Canada we have a number of smaller episodes entitled, Bit Drizzle, ready for your listening pleasure. In this episode the boys talk about sentient baked goods, try to take down the fraternity system and tell a lovely story about a grandma and her grand-daughter.
In their last episode before Ben heads off to Canada leaving Trevor to fend for himself for 6 weeks, the boys come up with some interesting mechanics involving a second-person action/adventure game, losing time instead of health, picking procedurally generated people out of a police lineup and finding the best way to spend one million bucks. Plus some Doctor Who thing, I don't know.
This week on Bit Storm: watch our for flames as you hatch a dragon's egg, see how large you can grow your lint ball, discover the intricacies of playing curling on a basketball court, drive a car as a small child and solve nursery rhyme crimes with Ben and Trevor.
Multiplayer backstabbing while diverting asteroids, skeleton jigsaw puzzles, avoiding the flu and images burning into your brain like an old CRT - just a few of the game mechanics in this week's episode. Join Ben and Trevor as they Click Pitch the night away!
The Atari 2600 game ET, ducks pulling off bank heists, Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, kiwis (the bird, not the fruit), the Dewey Decimal System and far too many secret agents; these are just a few of the ideas tackled in this week's crop of Click Pitch games by Trevor and Ben. If you've ever wanted a period piece about the great video game crash of the 80s, (and really, who hasn't thought about that at least once in their lives?), this is the episode for you!
Ben and Trevor click the night away and invent a gel based multiplayer squad shooter with Minecraft building mechanics, an alien raising simulator as metaphor for raising a human child, a Moonlighting sequel which reveals an old nemesis, plus they fight off boars to gain access to the fountain of youth and much more!

021: Hand Occupation (featuring Jacob Janerka, creator of Paradigm)
Ben and Trevor are joined by Jacob Janerka this week, creator of the wonderfully funny Paradigm! In recognition of the success of his point and click adventure, as well as the fortuitous timing of Adventure Jam 2017, we decided to do our Adventure Game Design Done Quick segment, which we haven't done since episode 2! We each pitched a few ideas for small adventure games, and then spent the hour working through the story and puzzles. Keep your limbs inside the podcast at all times, it's quite a trip!

020: Starch Wars (featuring Brendan White from The Hungry Gamers)
Vegetables abound this week as Ben and Trevor are joined by Brendan White from fellow AGPN podcast The Hungry Gamers. We imagine a world where root vegetables are made sentient and fight their leafy above ground foes, a chalky stegosaurus tracking down fare evaders and solving a mystery, a Transformers heist game, a grisly 19th century murder mystery starring Willem Dafoe and using the Death Stranding technology, and we re-imagine The Last Of Us as a new entry into the Universal Monsters canon.

Reimagined: The Last Of Us 2
Alone again, Trevor and Ben get a little bit silly and invent a game with analogue breathing controls, a bachelor party planning simulator, a school-based stealth game set in the 80s, and took ideas for movie tie-ins from AGPN resulting in a new Scarface game with goblins, a horror game based (very loosely) on Night Shift, and finally a good Stargate SG-1 game.

018: All Hail the Octolord (featuring Daniel Mason from The S.O.A.P)
With the help of Daniel Mason from The S.O.A.P podcast, this week Ben and Trevor turned random words into an action adventure played in a world run by a giant totalitarian octopus, a saliva based collectible figurine game, a Lord of the Rings themed game played over the course of months with Pokemon Snap inspirations, turned The Wizard of Oz into a giant world-spanning RPG, and reimagined Cyberpunk: 2077 as a personal story experienced through the interface of an old school BBS.

017: Room Full of Garfields (featuring John Kane from Gritfish)
Ben and Trevor are joined by John Kane from Gritfish for a very adventure game heavy episode - we brainstorm a Thimbleweed Park inspired murder mystery set at a comic book convention in an alternate universe where Garfield is the ultimate in pop culture, a beehive simulator controlled entirely through dance, a game where you control a chicken and her egg simultaneously, an 80s themed RPG set in a world divided into musical genres narrated by Weird Al Yankovic, and we reimagine Gritfish's Mallow Drops as a punishing platformer where you play a suicidal s'more to be.

016: Veronica Fizzlesticks: Wizard Lawyer (featuring Laura Voss from Harmonious Games)
This week Laura Voss, Creative Director at Harmonious Games joined Ben and Trevor in the Click Pitch hot seat. We ruminate on waffle decorum and pancake physics, spy on drunks hiding in futuristic speakeasies, handle divorce cases between giants and dwarves, build a technologically advanced mole colony to efficiently steal carrots, and consider a Fresh Prince of Bel Air platforming game. Plus we throw a few ideas around in an attempt to reimagine Harmonious Games' latest release Putty Pals, resulting in a VR action extravaganza.

015: Crosswalk Battlefield: Advertising Edition (featuring Kamina Vincent from Mountains)
This week on Bit Storm (new name!): Kamina Vincent, producer at Mountains, helped us get political to make an Animal Farm inspired farm management game, a PolyBridge-esque restaurant automation game, we won the heart and minds of the populace through well placed advertising and propaganda in Crosswalk Battlefield, and we did a remarkably accurate reimagining of What Remains of Edith Finch by Giant Sparrow. Plus a seasonally appropriate Easter adventure that ends in a bunny bloodbath. Who says games aren't art?

014: Baby B-Ball (featuring Giselle Rosman from Hipster Whale)
Giselle Rosman of Hipster Whale, the Melbourne IGDA and the Global Game Jam is our guest this week, helping Ben and Trevor turn random prompts into games where babies play basketball, dogs have to pee their own landmarks, a wandering chaperone moves from school to school making sure there's no funny business happening, and a ghost has to alter its environment to make sure everybody finds their soulmate. Finally, while reimagining Thimbleweed Park by Terrible Toybox we bring the time-honoured adventure game staple of pixel hunting into the VR space - I can hear Ron Gilbert's facepalm from here.

013: Punch Stuff Until The Magic Happens (featuring Andrew Natoli from The Inconsolables)
Co-host of The Inconsolables Andrew Natoli joins Trevor and Ben for a spicy good time! Game pitches this week include the new Hogwarts adventures of Fiddler and Louse, the tribulations of raising a baby mech alongside your human children, the son of God as a limo driver, and we reimagine Atlus's Persona 5 as a clone filled action brawler mixed with a bit of Banjo-Kazooie. Oh, plus sentient spice jars riding T-bone steaks, because that's how we roll.
11th Mar 2017
012: Rex Hunt: The Fisher King (featuring Mitch Loh)
Ben and Trevor are joined this week by Mitch Loh from the Pixel Sift podcast! We find ourselves in some familiar Lame Storming territory with games set at funerals and involving people in mascot suits - you'll have to listen to find out if that's one game idea or two. We make countless references to B-grade Australian celebrities in a telethon simulation game, and reimagine Horizon: Zero Dawn as a mashup of every Vin Diesel movie ever made.
4th Mar 2017
011: Competitive Ornithology (featuring Pete Curulli)
Pete Curulli from the fantastic Game On Australia podcast joins Ben and Trevor this week in a cavalcade of potty humour and Star Wars jokes. We discover the new ARG for Blizzard's next Overwatch character reveal, re-invent the meaning of 'Season Pass', come up with a bird based MOBA, challenge theme park mascots to hold their pee and re-imagine The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a fart based game made beautiful by Team Ico . Don't lose any of that StinkMass™!
With the help of Gustav Seymore from Lost Goblin, Trevor and Ben take this week's prompts and turn them into management games involving valet parking, high school relationships and sentient hams, as well as an action adventure game starring a bright and shiny shorts wearing detective, a dark and twisted movie making game and an alternate version of Lost Goblin's 'Goblins of Elderstone' with an elderly protagonist summoning goblins.
Game artist Inge Berman from S1T2 surfs into our special Global Game Jam episode, using this year's theme of 'waves' to buoy our imaginations! The result is wet and foamy, as we invent a VR game starring a dendrophobic lumberjack (with a sweet double axe attack), a meditation game using Nintendo's Wii Fiit Board and Viiitality sensor, and we reinvent Inge's game Kept as a stationery hoarding game with a gnomish protagonist.

Community lead and co-founder of Alta, Justine Colla, joins us this week to invent games about chatting with anthropomorphic ledges, hypnotizing restaurant patrons to get better tips, and giant wrestling goddesses. It's clobberin' time! (That's a wrestling thing, right?)

Game designer Emre Deniz joins us this week, and the result was slightly disturbing. Themes of darkness dominated, with flickering candles and the setting sun giving way to the horrors that lie in the absence of light.
Plus, parties! Food fights and drug filled benders, with messes to be made and cleaned up. Everything is fun in VR!

Rhys Smith of Pine Fire Studios joins Trevor and Ben this week and they delve into some Click Pitch where things quickly get hot and bothered. Games about flames, burlesque and bondage are the result, until things are slightly cooled by a game about lichen trading.

Trevor and Ben have some pre-prepared game ideas that they unleash on each other, before playing another couple of rounds of Click Pitch. Although they do get a little VR heavy... must be that Ben got to experience VR at PAX.
Pre-Prepared Game Ideas:

Peter Bred and the Stale Situation
Trevor and Ben present Click Pitch Classic #2. We travel back in time to episode 8 of Two Sweary Dads and revisit where Lame Storming started.
This episode we try out a new segment, Adventure Game Design Done Quick (AGDDQ), where we try to write the story and puzzles for a small point and click adventure game within the hour. The result is a Lovecraftian horror game called Blind Reflection, with some interesting twists on the classic point and click gameplay.
Adventure Game Design Done Quick
We decided to provide some extra content for the first few off weeks of Lame Storming. Trevor and Ben revisit the originator of Lame Storming, the Click Pitch segments from Episodes 2 & 3 of Two Sweary Dads.
We jump straight into the fun in our first episode, starting out by bringing our game Click Pitch across from our other podcast Two Sweary Dads, then starting a new segment where we come up with game tie-ins for movies that probably don’t need them.
