271: Procedural Swayze
Ben and Trevor riff on some randomly generated prompts to come up with game designs - this week the ideas tended towards relationships and small narrative segments, with games like:
- a cross between X-Com and The Sims where your soldiers relationships are tied deeply into the combat mechanics
- a simulated road house with extensible stories that play out night after night
- a Satisfactory style automation game where all of your tools and machines are plants that you must keep alive
- a retired programmer is asked to go to space so she can fight a rogue AI
